Vivian Maier, in mine and Bill’s opinions is the best street photographer that ever lived. She considered herself an artist, and her hit rate was re-damn-diculous, at almost 100%. These are some of her contact sheets. She was precise and methodical, and knew what image she wanted to capture before she even touched her camera. How do I know that? I know that because as a prolific photographer myself, I’m always seeing potential shots, even if I don’t have my camera with me. Photography has to be a state of mind. Viv was incredibly prolific throughout her whole life. The only way to become a Master Photographer, or a Master of anything is to be prolific, precise and methodical.
