Sunset Watercolours

I have a number of painting projects on the go to take me through most of this year, I should imagine. In between commissions and larger personal projects, I like to do these often quick, whimsical pieces. Here’s a couple of recent watercolours done in one sitting a piece.

It’s good to exercise the imagination and be spontaneous. I never quite know what will appear until I’ve done it, then I kind of just go with it once an image begins to materialise. All this spontaneity actually helps with the really intricate stuff. Builds muscles memory and confidence. Vital stuff when you’re neck deep in detail.
