Days of Art 2025-15: Louis Prima

These Days of Art posts are not meant to be informative, but inspirational. I hope to present you with a little piece of art that you may be unfamiliar with. Take from it what you will, whether it is new or simply a reminder of something forgotten.

Today’s art is presented by Louis Prima, trumpter, singer, and an absolute hoot when performing. Here, he sings with his wife, the famously deadpanned Keely Smith. The song is a medley of “Just a Gigalo” and “I Ain’t Got Nobody.” They perform with his band, Sam Butera and the Witnesses on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Type it. You know you want to.
